A CARIBBEAN FIELD RESEARCH STATION
ERIC offers a research and training facility for high school and university students and researchers, both local and overseas, as well as community environmental leaders and environmental enthusiasts. Our team of experienced staff are committed to sustainable resource initiatives and seek the opportunity to share their skills and knowledge, while facilitating access to a part of the region famous for its unique combination of natural environments and biodiversity, and history of focused research.
We are ideally positioned to offer vocational training to students, groups and emerging scientists, through our PADI training centre and as the only certified Reef Check training facility in the southern Caribbean. Additionally we offer unique Caribbean Reef Check EcoExpeditions as well as our broader Ecological Expeditions, either of which can be developed as a bespoke itinerary for a visiting group and tailored to training and experience requirements, and which are excellent opportunities to acquire valuable field skills and experience whilst also contributing to our environmental monitoring programmes. For student group and expedition enquiries please email ericexpeditions@eric-tobago.org.
We welcome applications for volunteer placements and internships, although these are dependent on the design and implementation of a personal research project as well as involvement with all ongoing ERIC programmes, an approach that we have found offers the most beneficial and enriching placement. For more information or to submit an application please email info@eric-tobago.org.
